The production process involves:
first, processing the Hong Kong agarwood by brushing off the red soil powder, trimming away the core and less oily parts, etc., to enhance the aroma
. After processing, it is thoroughly cleaned and
slowly ground using a low-temperature grinding method to minimize heat generation, although this is time-consuming and labor-intensive,
requiring repeated and meticulous processing. Even bent or broken pieces of incense stick are carefully selected .
The first batch was finally completed after six months.
What are the differences between machine-made and handmade incense sticks?
Machines have higher pressure, making it easier to shape the incense sticks and resulting in higher output and a more linear production process. However, the proportion of plant-based binder powder is higher in machine- made incense sticks.
Handmade incense sticks are made by squeezing the agarwood base material under less pressure than machine-made ones, allowing for a lower limit of plant-based binder powder, resulting in less loss of material at the beginning and end.
The aroma is also more prominent.
